- 2006 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (3/31/2021)
Lot 9.097 (i.e. no Riserva juice), and it's largely mature. Yes it could be aged longer, but I am not sure that would be a benefit rather than a trade-off. Lots of dried cherry, rose and savory tones that are balanced to the sustained tannins. It's a lovely wine to pair with food, as long as there is some fatty richness to counterbalance the tannin. To my mind it's time to drink this version of the mercurial 2006.
