Mark just got this in at Koko, so tried:
1. Casal Farneto Rosae DOC: LaCrima di Morro d'Alba (13%; www.CasalFarneto.It; EnotecImprts/Glendale/CO) Serra de Conti 2017: Very dark color; beautiful very strong LCdMdA/black cherry cola/RCCola/blackberry/bit licorice slight earthy bit complex lovely fragrant nose; lightly tart very strong LCdMdA/black cherry cola/RCCola/bit licorice some earthy/rustic/rough bit complex flavor w/ some rough tannins; very long/lingering bit soft very strong LCdMdA/black cherry cola/RCCola/bit spicy/licorice bit complex finish w/ some tangy/chewey tannins; a classic/strong LCdMdA a bit on the rustic/hard/angular side; can use several yrs to smooth out the tannins; stupid/silly price. $10.00 (KK)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. LaCrima: A grape found primarily in the LaMarch of Italy. It is one of my favorite grapes & resembles Refosco a bit. I'd not tried this producer. Although not as good as the Giustis I've had, this wine spoke strongly of LCdMdA, though a bit on the angular/rustic side.
They make in this region a serious dessert wine called Visciola. It is made from Visciola cherries & LCdMdA grapes. It is an absolutely delicious dessert wine. They should be making this wine all over Calif using the native cherries.
