Lockdown Wine # 87. A bit of browning going on. Rather hot in the nose; the 14.5% alcohol is pretty obvious. Dig deep for some strawberry candy, prune, and a meaty/leathery aspect. Sweet and rich on the palate. Sweet spice. Soft but chewy. Very close to peak, if not there already. As to the heat, it seems all of it is in the nose. It's rather well hidden on the palate. Good length with just a touch of bitterness.

Easygoing. Rather surprised at how fast I drank it. Nice with a pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza and fusili arrabiata.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
