WTN: BonnyDoon Picpoul/Bedrock Evangelho '19...(short/boring

Opened these ystrday for Steve to try:
1. BonnyDoonVnyd Picpoul BeeswaxVnyd/ArroyoSeco (11%; BonnyDoonVineyards.com) KingCity/Monterey 2019: Pale yellow color; quite fragrant/floral/gardenias slight spicy/cardamon light chalky/perfumed talc almost R-like quite attractive nose; fairly tart/tangy rather rich/lush strong floral/carnations/gardenias/fruity light chalky/perfumed talc lovely flavor; very long/lingering lightly tart strong floral/carnations/gardenias light perfumed talc finish; not nearly as austere/severe as Picpoul from France or Estonia; quite rich/lush for Picpoul and belies the 11% alcohol; not as good or varietal as the TablasCreek Picpoul and resembles Vermentino more than anything; not profound Picpoul but a good drinker at a great price. $14.50 (KK)
___________
2. Bedrock EvangelhoVnyd Heritage ContraCostaCnty RW (Own-rooted vines planted in 1890's; 14.5%) 2019: Dark color; very strong ContraCosta/mushroomy/earthy/bit loamy strong plummy/Mataro light toasty/oak bit complex nose; bit soft very strong ContraCosta/earthy/mushroomy very plummy/blackberry/Mourv bit toasty/oak flavor w/ light soft tannins; very long soft fairly earthy/mushroomy/loamy/ContraCosta some blackberry/plummy/Mourv bit toasty/oak fairly deep finish w/ light soft tannins; would like a bit more high-toned fruit but speaks strongly of OV CC Mourv. $34.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I cracked the BonnyDoon with low expectations, now that Randall is peripherally involved. I was quite surprised at how good it was for such a cheap price. Nothing profound but good drinking.

Thanks Tom.

I have a 2016 Bedrock Evangelho Heritage Vineyard

.I looked up the winery notes on your 2019 wine and found
Mataro is particularly expressive this year, and its brawny yet brainy presence makes itself felt behind the always lusciously luculent Zinfandel and Carignan.

I had to lookup the meaning of luculent, if only he'd have used pellucid :)

So thanks for expanding my vocabulary!
