2014 Ultramarine Rosé Heintz Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (3/14/2021)
Afternoon with popcorn and a movie, and this was just as happy as we were. Exuberantly effervescent, I had to pour two full glasses from the heavily chilled bottle to stop it from foaming over. Once that little adventure was done it drank as well as almost any other Ultramarine, the 2013 Blanc de Blancs notwithstanding. Tart cherry, orange zest, brisk acidity, and an overall friendly disposition. There's more than enough material for this to develop over several years, but we drink so much young Rosé that I doubt our other bottle will be around for long.
