WTN: Rawhyde!

2014 Massican Chardonnay Hyde Vineyards - USA, California, Napa Valley (3/8/2021)
Well I am happy to admit I was wrong. Four years ago I thought this was too lean to age, and I blew that call. It’s positively brilliant right now. It definitely speaks of Hyde. Despite the radically different winemaking treatment from say Ramey, I can clearly find a kinship. That has to be the site speaking. Crisp orchard fruit, dusted with spice, and splashed with lemon juice, just brings refreshment, and makes me smile, even after a pandemic Monday!

I bought a more recent vintage. Haven't opened it yet, maybe I should wait?

'19. I purchased it to sample but after sampling the '19 Sauv Blanc, which was pretty tight and linear I held back on the chard.

I have not yet opened a 2019. I'll add one to the queue.
