2019 Wagner-Stempel Siefersheimer Heerkretz Riesling Kabinett - Germany, Rheinhessen (2/16/2021)
Continuing to explore the 2019 vintage at Wagner-Stempel, this is a big, brash Kabinett. It’s full sweet, and mouthfilling, carrying a phenolic bite and a finishing kick of acidity. It’s like getting punched by a skilled boxer, that hits above his weight class. I find that I can admire this wine, but I am not really sure I like it. It’s not what I am looking for when I opening a Kabinett.
