2017 Alzinger Ried Mühlpoint GV Smaragd
A wonderful balance of golden Smaragd power and subtle gentle delicate flavors and textures. I drank two bottles recently and both kept gaining layers and depth over several hours, all the while retaining the juicy joy. A winner.

2015 Alzinger Loibner Mühlpoint GV Smaragd
More mature and harmonious than the 2017s, but with less energy and overall not quite as joyous. Certainly a lovely and elegant wine to have in your glass with dinner, so no complaints. Drank two bottles recently and was happy but not inspired to get more.

2015 Alzinger Steinertal GV Smaragd
Here we have a wine! Similar flavor profile as the above, but with such a gorgeous texture. Such clarity, such definition, such grip. I think they call that 'breed'. Enjoy!

Steinertal is the one to age. I prefer all the rest of the Alzinger GV on the young side.

Then there’s the Rieslings.

Yes, I can see that. Good to hear some confirmation.

I've always enjoyed Alzinger over the years, but never drank them consistently enough to get to know them well. Too much wine too little time!
