Tried these two from the archives a few days ago:
1. Radio-Coteau Syrah Timbervine RRV (Joe Mesics & Eva Auchincloss: growers; 300 cs; U/U; 15.0%) 2003: Very dark color w/ light bricking; strong spicy/blackberry/Syrah light cold-climate/b lack pepper bit w-c/Rhonish light pencilly/oak fairliy complex lovely mature Syrah nose; rather tart/metallic bit dried-out strong spicy/blackberry/Syrah/peppery bit pencilly/oak somewhat tired/metallic flavor w/ tangy/metallic tannins; very long some tangy/metallic drying out finish w/ light gritty tannins; a quite interesting mature Syrah nos but pretty metallic/dried out on the palate.

2. Radio-Coteau Zin vonWeidlich RRV (Robert von Weidlich: grower; 296 cs; U/Y; 15.4%) 2003: Dark somewhat murky/brown color; fairly strong blacckberry/peppery/c-c Zin/spicy some dusty/OV light pencilly/oak some complex mature Zin nose; tart/tangy/metallic fairly dried-out/tired very slight blackberry/peppery/Zin bit pencilly/oak flavor w/ modest drying/bitter/grainy tannins; long rather dried-out/tired finish w/ light gritty tannins; rather interesting c-c mature Zin nose but pretty dried-out on the palate.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I was expecting these two to be in a little better shape than they showed, especially the Syrah. Both had fairly intense mature noses w/ plenty of fruit but, on the palate, they were pretty dried-out/metallic/tangy w/ gritty tannins.
