2020 Jules Taylor Grüner Veltliner Marlborough
Delicate color (very pale) and flavor. Light citrus with white cherry and fresh green peas. Blind, I might have thought it roussanne. A laudable new world take on an old world variety. But a bit too delicate for the sole amandine I prepared to dinner, so we switched over to:

2018 Jules Taylor Chardonnay Marlborough
Ms. Taylor's style is both elegant and precise, and this chardonnay, the first we've had of hers, delivered as expected while offering more body for the brown butter/lime/shallot pan sauce I finished the fish with. Light yellow, more tropical than France but less weight, less oak and more acidity than you'd get from California. Another year or two in bottle should reward those with patience.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
