2018 Guilhem et Jean-Hugues Goisot Bourgogne Côtes d'Auxerre Corps de Garde Blanc - France, Burgundy, Côtes d'Auxerre, Bourgogne Côtes d'Auxerre (1/14/2021)
First time trying a wine from this producer, and impressed by the flavor per dollar ratio. It starts out crunchy and spicy, and finishes with a dash of richness. The general richness of 2018 shows through, with a fuller body than I might have suspected, rather than just overt heaviness. I have a random selection of bottles to try from this producer. This is an auspicious start.

I always reach for a Goisot wine when I see one; prices are affordable and quality nearly always there. The estate does not own any of the most famous terroirs in Burgundy but does a remarkable job with its plots at the extreme north of the region. Climate warming helps here.

At least climate change is good for something!

Nearly 48 hours later the last glass is still going strong.
