2018 Guilhem et Jean-Hugues Goisot Bourgogne Côtes d'Auxerre Corps de Garde Blanc - France, Burgundy, Côtes d'Auxerre, Bourgogne Côtes d'Auxerre (1/14/2021)First time trying a wine from this producer, and impressed by the flavor per dollar ratio. It starts out crunchy and spicy, and finishes with a dash of richness. The general richness of 2018 shows through, with a fuller body than I might have suspected, rather than just overt heaviness. I have a random selection of bottles to try from this producer. This is an auspicious start.

I always reach for a Goisot wine when I see one; prices are affordable and quality nearly always there. The estate does not own any of the most famous terroirs in Burgundy but does a remarkable job with its plots at the extreme north of the region. Climate warming helps here.

Nearly 48 hours later the last glass is still going strong.
