WTN: ...and then a Pahl fell over the room

by Jenise » Thu Jan 07, 2021 6:47 pm

With a garlic/herb French cream cheese on WASA multi-grain crispbread:

2018 Pahlmeyer Sauvignon Blanc Jayson Napa Valley
For lovers of sophisticated, classic Sauvignon Blanc: quoting CAVE D'ARGENT from Cellar Tracker who captured it perfectly: "This pale yellow wine, comprised of 100% Sauvignon Blanc that was fermented and aged in neutral French oak, shows an impressive fruit/herb balance. Nicely aromatic, it delivers a package of white peaches, clementines, cut grass and white flowers. Light-bodied, freshly acidic...and with only a wisp of oak...." I'll note that it was fairly tight when first opened and required some decanting to coax it out. Remainders were best the second night.

Good catch, Bob, because on second thought I would not have included that in my own description. I was quoting someone else and glossed right over that.

As much as I hate SB, white peach is not uncommon as a fruit element.
