WTN: Bedrock Syrah Calico '18....(short/boring)

by TomHill » Wed Dec 23, 2020 4:01 pm

After two dodgey Gruners last night, wanted something decent to drink:
1. Bedrock Syrah Calico Calif (14.5%) 2018: Very dark color; very strong blackberry/Syrah/quite spicy some cold-climate/black pepper some whole-cluster/Rhonish/roasted meats light toasty/oak some complex nose; some tart/tangy very strong blackberry/very spicy/Syrah slight c-c/peppery some w-c/Rhonish bit toasty/oak somewhat complex flavor w/ some ripe/tangy tannins; very long very strong blackberry/Syrah/very spicy/w-c/peppery bit complex finish w/ ample ripe/chewey tannins; a solid/4-square Bedrock Syrah. $39.00

1. This was from the Bedrock Fall release that arrived over a month ago, but I hadn't got around to trying it. I had recently tried the Bedrock Calif Syrah at $20.00. This Calico was a notch above that wine, but not a big notch. It will probably improve w/ 2-5 yrs of age I would guess.
