Tried these last night w/ Susan & leftover (from Pig+Fig) turkey gumbo:
1. Bedrock Chard BienNacidoVnyd/SantaMariaVlly (Own-rooted/OldVines; 13.2%) 2019:Med.gold color; strong melony/Chard/almondy/slight herbal rather fragrant/perfumey light pencilly/toasty/Fr.oak lovely lithe BN Chard nose; fairly tart/tangy rich/structured some pencilly/toasty/oak strong melony/lemony/almondy slight stony/chalky flavor; very long melony/Chard/almondy/appley some pencilly/oak bit chalky/mineral finish; quite a lovely classic BN Chard that needs age; reminds some of the ABC BN Chards but w/o the oak and not as bombastic but more restrained; a lovely/well-crafted Chard that should age well. $39.00
___________
2. Bedrock Syrah Calif (14.5%) 2019: Very dark color; very strong blackberry/Syrah/ripe/boysenberry/spicy some peppery/cold-climate/black pepper some complex lovely nose; lightly tart strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy/ripe/boysenberry light black pepper/c-c light toasty/oak some complex flavor w/ modest/bitey tannins; very long/lingering very strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy some c-c/peppery light toasty/oak finish w/ modest tannins; a terrific Syrah at a terrific price; at the level of the Ojai Calif or the Jaffurs SBC Syrahs but a bit simpler; back up the truck on this one; we did to the tune of 2 cases; should age for 3-6 yrs. $20.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This is Morgan's first Chard from BN Vnyd and a wonderful addition to his tableau.
The Calif Syrah is one terrific Syrah for the price. Performs well above its pay grade.
