Weingut Stadt Krems GrunerVeltliner Stein DAC: Kremstal (13.0%) 2017: Med.yellow color; fairly fragrant classic GV/white pepper/light floral slight earthy pleasant if undistinguished nose; rather tart/tangy/bit lean some GV/white pepper slight floral/carnations light earthy/mineral pleasant enough GV flavor; long tart/tangy/bit lean/tight rather quiet GV/white pepper/spicy/floral pleasant finish; a pleasant enough if undistinguished GV but pretty overpriced. $31.00 (AV)

Weingut Stadt Krems GrunerVeltliner Ried Weinzierlberg DAC: Kremstal (12.5%; www.WeingutStadtKrems.At; WinebowImprts) Krems 2016: Med.gold color; beautiful very fragrant GV/white pepper/floral/gardenias/peach/peach blossom some complex nose; some tart/tangy very strong GV/white pepper/very spicy/floral/gardenias fairly rich/lush light mineral/stony/steely complex flavor; very long/linger very strong GV/white pepper/floral/gardeniasvery spicy some mineral/steely complex finish; lots of spicy GV fruit & a light minerality; starting to show some evolution & will go another 4-8 yrs. $26.00

1. The Stein is a village wine that reflects the village of Krems (so they say). Whereas the 2'nd is a single-vnyd GV that was far superior and at a cheaper price. The Stein was fairly disappointing.
