A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Ser is the SantaCruz wnry of NicoleWalsh. She started in winemaking in Michigan, then becoming winemaker at BonnyDoon, plus managing the development of Randal's vnyd in SanJuanBautista. She makes wines that she wants to express the vnyd origins. I gather she is a "natural" winemaker, but doesn't make a big deal of it & her wines, which I like a lot, don't display any natty character that I can pick up.
CabernetPfeffer (pepper) has a tiny 10 acres of vines in SanBenitoCnty at the deRoseVnyd and PatWirz's CienegaVlly vnyd. Very old vine stuff. Once thought to be a CabernetSauv X Trousseau cross, Nicole did the DNA at Davis & it was found to be the obscure French variety Mourtaou and no relation to Cabernet. There's no idea how it made its way to Calif. Its origins are apparently in Bordeaux.
