A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Jacquere is a grape variety found almost exclusively in the Savoie. One of its parents is GouaisBlanc, the other unknown. A tiny amount is also grown in Condrieu & Bugey.
Jacquere is a high yielder and tends to make somewhat lean minerally wines. This one had some richness & texture to it and one of the best Jacqueres I've had.
When you put your ear down to the glass of this wine, you can hear, off in the distance, faintly, JulieAndrews lilting out "The Hills Are Alive". A unique experience w/ a wine.
I'd love to see Jacquere in the hands of Morgan Twain-Peterson. Not in the hands of Nathan & Duncan, though.
