2012 Virage Vineyards - USA, California, Napa Valley (12/3/2020)
How did I not know about these wines before now? What a lovely combination of classic stature and Napa fruit. Deep red berry and black currant, warm, brown spice and a measured tannic underpinning (it really felt like a foundation, rather than something that was reaching up to bite me) makes for a (too) easily drinkable wine. I kept sipping and sipping, and suddenly it was gone. Whoops!

Sounds delightful. Is this a red blend or varietal?

It's a blend, focused on Cabernet Franc, with some Merlot, and then a little Cabernet Sauvignon.

I saw the posts about Virage on Berserkers and was SO tempted. It did indeed sound like what you say, classic, and in the way I crave and rarely find. Going to go order some.

Yeah, it’s a rough situation with the loss of a home from the fires.

I know. So many people in need for so many reasons, it's almost hard to pick. But I really did feel for her. Am glad you got in there to help.
