1990 Ch. Les Ormes de Pez, and it was excellent!
You've heard of having lead pencil in the nose? Well this had it noticeably in the mouth as well. Ever nibble on a pencil while working out some difficult problem? It was there. Good black fruit and the early rather stiff tannins I noted when I tried it some years ago (no surprise for a St. Estephe) have softened and the fruit is still sweet and prominent. Moderate acidity and medium length finish. Glad I waited! No rush on this one.
