Envínate Táganan 2018 - Listan Gaucho, Listan Negro, Malvasia Negro + other local varieties; Canary Islands; 12% abv; c.25€
Oh wow! This was unexpectedly lovely. My regular wine shop "forced" me to buy one as they were sure I'd absolutely love it. And they were right. Just beautifully aromatic with very fresh floral and red berry aromas, almost a Syrah-like peppery scent but this is a delicate, fragrant wine, not muscular and Syrah-like in any other way. Delightfully crunchy and stemmy on the palate with gentle fruit and juicy acidity and wonderful "minerality" (why do I keep on using this word since I hate how imprecise it is?). So clean and refreshing on the finish (natural wine isn't always smelly and dirty!). Outstanding. Buy again? Yes, as much as I can afford.
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.
