WTN: Domaine Jamet Cote-Rotie 2003

Lockdown # 67. Pop and pour. Still pretty dark and youthful looking. Woodsy, peppery, oriental spice, anise on the nose. Woodsy with a touch of raisin/prune on the palate. A little bit lacking on the mid-palate. A weird, shrill acidity makes a brief appearance at the finish, which was a bit surprising. Very soft. Medium length. No point in keeping this as I don't think it will get better, and, in fact, seems to be over the hill already. Drink up.

Fast maturing due to 2003 heat or provenance heat?

I admit to wondering what it takes to keep wines in good condition getting to SE Asia.

The provenance of this bottle is pretty good. Bought in the US (I can't recall which store) and kept in a temp controlled wine storage facility in California until it was brought home, and then stored in a Vintec. So, could it be 2003 heat? Don't have enough experience with 2003 Rhone to tell.
