Grayson brought over his dinner wine to share last night:
1. FoxRunVnyds Lemberger Fingerlakes (12.8%) FoxRunVnyds/PennYan/NY 2017: Med.color; rather earthy/loamy bit vinyl plasticizer some high-toned/aromatic BF slight Burgenland-like interesting nose; quite tart/tangy earthy/loamy BF/licorice/pungent some smokey/oak bit high-toned/plasticizer quite tangy bit lean/angular flavor w/ light tangy tannins; med.long quite tart/tangy rather BF/licorice/plastizer fairly earthy/loamy/bit rough/rustic some green/herbal finish w/ light green tannins; a rather interesting if a bit strange expression of BlauFrankisch.

1. This is, of course, what is also known as BlauFrankisch in Austria. It had a somewhat high-toned aromatics of vinyl plasticizers, like when you go down to HomeDepot and stick your head inside a brand-new vinyl trash barrel...if you can relate to that one!! Usually Burgenland BF or WashState Lemberger tends towards a rather rich/lush/plummy character. This was much sharper & leaner than those expressions of BF.
