Tried this new wine last night w/ Susan:
1. Emotiq Malvasia Puntinata IGP: Lazio VinoBiologico (U; 12%; CriticalMassSlctns, T.ElentenyImprts; www.CantineRiccardiReale.It) Piero Riccardi/LorellaReale/Bellegra 2019: Deep golden/burnished bronze color w/ lots of finely suspended flocculant sediment; dreadful natty/feral/earthy/mousey/wet dog fur/kitty litter/hantavirus very weak Malvasia/fragrant slight volatile quite vile nose; quite sour very natty/mousey/stale used kitty litter/wet dog fur rather tannic/bitter/austere totally dry severe flavor w/ some tannic bite; med.long very sour/austere natty/mousey/hantavirus/kitty litter rather bitter finish w/ strong bitter/tannic bite; no Malvasia character that I can detect; seems to be some skin-contact but no identifiable phenolic/resiny character; a vile/undrinkable white and that's the positive traits; down the drain; even Susan wouldn't drink it. Quite fairly priced for a failed science experiment. $26.50 (KK)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This was on the rack of "natural" wines at Kokoman. So I was very hesitant to try it, but I wanted to see what MalvasiaPuntinata was like. This wine gave me no such indicator, only of a science experiment gone woefully wrong.
MalvasiaPuntinata is a variety unique to Lazio. A cross between Muscat of Alexandria and SchiavaGrossa. No reason that I can tell that it should be being planted all up&down the Coast of Calif except in the vicinity of a sewage plant where the terrior might give the wine some kind of redeeming features.
This is exactly the kind of wine that gives "natural wine" a bad reputation & sure to send Monktown attourneys foaming at the mouth.
