Here is a TN on a bottle of entry level Côtes du Rhône, which I had previously found very decent. I am familiar with goût de torchon (= dishcloth aroma). I have found that even in restaurants which ought to know better. However this is the first time I can recall such an aggressive taint from washing-up liquid. It was my fault because I was doing the shopping that day and did not notice the raspberry vinegar ingredient.
2019 Domaine les Aphillanthes Côtes du Rhône Le Jeune Page - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône (09/09/2020)
A voice from across the table alerted me to the rather confected nature of raspberry tinged aromas particularly on the nose. She was right and, once noticed, it detracted somewhat from my enjoyment. Still quite good.
PS: Apologies to Aphillanthes - the culprit was washing up liquid made from vinaigre de framboise!
