Tried these two last week:
1. Siduri PinotNoir Gary'sVnyd/SantaLuciaHighlands (14.1%) 2005: Med.light color w/ light bricking; strong Siduri/toasty/Fr.oak some cedary/pencilly/old PN light PN/black cherry fairly complex/mature nose; lightly tart/tangy/slight metallic strong Siduri/Fr.oak/toasty light cedary/pencilly/mature PN/slight Burgundian light black cherry/PN complex flavor w/ light gentle slightly drying tannins; very long lightly tart/tangy/bit drying light cherry/PN some complex finish w/ light smooth tannins; starting to show some age a bit but still in good condition and fully mature if a bit beyond.
________
2. OjaiVnyd PinotNoir BeinNacidoVnyd/SantaMariaVlly (14.0%) 2005: Med.bit murky color w/ some bricking; strong toasty/Fr.oak/smokey classic BN/black cherry/PN/bit black cherry cola light earthy fairly complex nose; quite tart/tangy strong smokey/toasty/Fr.oak strong BN PN/black cherry/black cherry cola light earthy/RedBurg/spicy fairly complex flavor w/ light gentle tannins; very long/lingering strong toasty/smokey/Fr.oak stron BN PN/black cherry finish; lots of Ojai smokey Fr.oak & lots of classic BN black cherry PN character & no signs of drying out; fully mature if a bit beyond.
_____________
A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Ojai: This was made before Adam started to change his style w/ PN and lighten them up a bit. It has come together quite nicely, is fully mature, and ready to drink up.

Nice that they are both showing pretty well at age 15.

Bill Spohn has opened a few old Ojai's that aged impressively. Without checking my notes, they were probably syrahs not pinots, but still.
