Needed to create an account to view the page linked to, which I didn't. However we went to Lanzarote for Christmas in 2015...

This is a vineyard at Bodegas Rubicon

There's a wall one one side to protect the vine from the wind - nowhere is far from the sea, and the volcanic stones have water from the hot air condense on them when the temperature drops at night which waters the vine.

I liked the wines, Listan Negro is the main red

Talking of the sea, here's a beach view....

Tom, first thing I thought of when I saw that picture was the Arco desert area around EBR-1 in southern Idaho. Looks just like this!
