WTN: In the spring becomes the Rosenda

by David M. Bueker » Mon Aug 17, 2020 8:34 am

2018 Stony Hill Rosenda de la Sombra - USA, California, Napa Valley (8/16/2020)
On an oppressively humid evening, a Rosé is just the trick. This needed about thirty minutes to open up, and it was better as it warmed up just a touch. Then the dark cherry and strawberry fruit matched up with a lightly creamy mid-palate, and long finish that had just a bit of tannic grip. My last of three bottles, and the one that showed the best.

It's Cabernet Sauvignon.

This is from THAT Stony Hill? Had no idea they'd ever done a rose.

Yes it is. I had never heard of it. I was in the club for a couple of years, and this was offered as a plus up. I grabbed three. Drank the first two much too early.
