Lockdown Wine #48. Dark olive/amber. Thick and viscous. Nose and palate pretty much the same. Great complexity. Espresso, caramel, dates, figs, pecans, cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins, and a touch of wood. Off dry due some PX mixed in. Impressive length. Slightly drying/woody finish. Lovely with some salty fried Haloumi cheese. I would guess this is an atypical Palo Cortado, since every other PC I've tried is bone dry. Still, an outstanding wine and one of my favorite sherries.

I love Palo Cortado but have never had one that would merit the descriptor "viscuous". Sounds delicious, if puzzling.

Now that I think about it, maybe it felt "viscous" because it came out of the freezer. I have some leftover and will see if it still feels that way tomorrow.
