2012 Rhys Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard Santa Cruz Mountains
Loganberry fruit (darker than a raspberry, lighter than a blackberry) with lush spice, prominent green olive notes and the sweet-sour savory acidity of rhubarb. An exciting pinot--unmistakably pinot but unlike any I can remember having before. Recommend standing the bottle up for a few days before opening--just pulling it out of the cellar, the last two inches turned cloudy and we had to toss.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Alpine is a really unique site. I prefer Horseshoe, but both are very fine.

And yes, I always stand them up for several days. Gunk is a feature.

I should do that routinely, but I'm a spontaneous creature. In fact last night's entire dinner was a last minute change (rain killed our plan with friends for an outdoor tequila contest).
