2005 Jean Bourdy Côtes du Jura Rouge Red Fruit leans toward cranberry and sour cherry but overall it's tart and gamey with mature leathery notes. A food wine, not a sipper, and it needs to be carefully paired to show why wines like this are worth drinking--a black truffle omelet worked mighty fine.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
Thanks. I've got one of these and keep seeing people saying to hold it for 50 years (which would present actuarial problems for me). Sounds like this is fine to open now with, as you note, the right food pairing. Now, if I could only get a hold of some black truffles -- though I've long enjoyed pairing more pedestrian omelettes (for dinner) with lighter, tart reds.
