WTN: Barolo Brovia Garblet Sue 2010

by Jay Labrador » Mon Jul 27, 2020 8:11 am

Lockdown Wine #43. Italian leftovers for dinner, so Barolo this time. Pretty dark. Is it just me, or are Barolos getting darker? I recall Barolos from the 90's that were quite pale compared to the ones post 2000. Fine nose. Black fruit, leather, hint of earth. Roses, maybe, but no tar. Mocha. Juicy, ripe, crunchy black fruit. Cherry, plum. Chewy, meaty, dense. Some wood notes. Tannins could use a bit more time to soften, but it is quite nice already. Good length. Finishes dry and clean. Pretty enjoyable now, but will likely continue to get better.

My go-to producer in Barolo. Lovely note.

Thanks! It's been years since I've had a Brovia. Good thing I have another bottle. Will wait at least 5 years maybe before I open it.

I think I have two bottles. I might try one in that same five years.
