2018 Sandlands Red Table Wine - USA, California, Central Valley, Lodi (7/10/2020)
Fascinating wine that transformed from a relatively simple, fruity quaff to a spicy, fruity, earthy combination over the course of two hours. Drink it too fast, and it could be easily dismissed. Only one bottle left to age, but I will try to exercise patience, as it seems a promising beginning.[/list]

Have 2 bottles of the Red Table Wine, 2017, Contra Costa County. No Sandlands purchases this year. It may stay that way. Already Sandlands is a substantial portion of cellar.

The wines are very good value, especially given their cult status.

I wasn't aware of cult status. But I remain hopeful that our wines will be great. Only one I've opened was a 2015 Chenin Blanc ($32). Good, but not great. QPR wasn't there. But all palates and budgets and perspectives are different.

A fun journey. Rationalizing, once it's purchased, it's a sunk cost.

The Chenin is the one thing from the Sandlands stable that I don't much enjoy.

If it helps, here is what I have on the 2017. 2018 I'll leave to David.

Carignane and Mataro.

Cheers!

2018 is Cinsault, Carignan and Zinfandel. Totally different from the 2017. 2018 is Lodi. 2017 was CCC.
