WTN: Kloster Eberbach Beereenauslese 2006

Lockdown Wine #35. To give the full name: Hessische Staatsweingüter Kloster Eberbach Rüdesheimer Berg Rottland Riesling Beerenauslese 2006.

Rather alarming, deep copper color. But otherwise, wine seemed fine. Peach, honey, candied pineapple, burnt sugar, marmalade. Good dose of acidity to balance the sweetness. Not a particularly rich or weighty wine, but good flavor and impressive length. Nice with the ubiquitous pandemic dessert - burnt Basque cheesecake.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

Given the rampant ripeness and heavy botrytis of the year I am not at all surprised by your description of the color.
