Lockdown Wine #32. Pretty dark, opaque violet. Nice nose. Sweet spices, cocoa, something creamy; this is matured in 80% new barrels, so maybe that explains the creaminess. Not a lot of fruit aroma, though. Sweet, ripe, crunchy black fruit. Blackberry, black cherry. Some coffee. Grilled meat. Plush, rich texture. Finishes dry with some bitterness at the very end. Good length. Tannins already soft. Good to drink now, at least in half bottle format. Best to give it a bit of air before drinking. Even 30 minutes is enough. I'm sure this still has a lot of maturing to do, but is already enjoyable.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
