I have always enjoyed dry white wines so when I see an Albarino downtown, keen to put away for a nice shellfish or chicken day! Some good notes posted here on this forum over the years so lets see how my 2016 shapes up.
2016 Attis Bodegas y Vinedos Albarino Rias Baixas, Galicia Spain.
Good natural cork, 13.5% alc, $24 Cdn, served quite chilled. Light gold color, aromatics show some floral tones, ripe lemon, white stonefruit with some nice minerality. Acidity showed up better on Day 2.
Initial entry thought was surprisingly a softer style of Albarino but good length, not too bitter. "Not my style" from across the table.I thought a touch more acidity and minerality would have been a nice plus.
Some good choices out there in AB-land..will pass on any new vintage.
Food was a stew of sausage and prawns in a tomato based broth.
