- 2017 Bedrock Wine Co. Chardonnay Chuy - USA, California, Sonoma County, Moon Mountain District (5/31/2020)
Read some of the recent notes on CellarTracker, and I have zero idea what the tasters were drinking. This is clearly California Chardonnay from the first sip, but it’s overall a slightly restrained style that puts balance ahead of power. There’s a bit more oak than I might have expected from the Bedrock guys, but the spice is balanced with the fruit. The back end acidity is invigorating, and the finish is persistent and delicious. It’s not so distinct from the Failla version from the same location, but it’s never a bad thing to be compared with an Ehren Jordan wine.
