WTN: About Schmitt

by David M. Bueker » Fri May 29, 2020 7:20 pm

  • 2007 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Schlossberg Riesling Spätlese "Schmitt" - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (5/29/2020)
Tasted over the course of two nights, and on night one it was very good. Night two came, and it turned into a revelation. Still showing ample fruit, as well as a firm mineral base, and just beginning to emerge bottle age tones. Beyond the flavors, it had a presence, a depth on the palate, and a haunting, lingering aroma that carried the grape, the site and the vintage. Balance, harmony, nuance and elegance. Drink now or until the sun goes nova.

Two points for the Subject title!
