WTN: Lindquist Syrah CentralCoast '17...(short/boring)

This was our red last night after two not so good orange wines:
1. LindquistFamilyWines Syrah CentralCoast (13.5%; www.LindquistFamilyWines.com) BobLindquist/SantaMaria 2017: Dark color; very strong blackberry/blueberry/Syrah/bit boysenberry/spicy slight peppery light smokey/toasty/oak some complex nose; fairly tart/tangy strong blackberry/Syrah/quite spicy/blueberry/bit peppery some toasty/pencilly/oak light earthy somewhat structured flavor w/ light brisk tannins; very long some tart/tangy strong blackberry/blueberry/Syrah/very spicy/slight peppery some structured finish w/ light bit chewey tannins; badly needs several yrs of age; this is a serious Syrah at a very good price. $26.00 (KK)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Finally, Bob's new wines, since his departure/firing from corporate Qupe showed up her in NM. So I was eager to try one. This is his basic CentralCoast Syrah, the wine that was his bread&butter back in the late '80's. The recent Qupe CC Syrahs have been a bit on the soft side. This one was not, had some structure, and reminded me of some of his CC Syrahs back in the mid-late '80's. Welcome back, Bob.

Good to see he is back to doing what he does best.
