WTN: Nepenthe Sauvignon Blanc 2005

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Feb 10, 2007 3:21 pm

Adelaide Hills.

Refreshing, spicy, peppery, moderately tangy, peach, lemon and grapefruit. Stood up fairly well to vegetable chilli.

Fairly long, tangy and mouthwatering finish.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased for $14.55 (Canadian).

Thanks for reminding me that I'm out of Nepenthe SB! I like keeping some of this one on hand.

Bruce, this sounds like a good wine to have on hand on any given weekend, especially to sip while cooking.

Quick question - is it dry or off-dry?

Believe it or not, I am having difficulty remembering  I guess old age is creeping.

I don't recall it being mouth-puckering dry, but I also don't recall it being overly sweet. Hope this helps.

While I haven't had the 05, I've had several bottles of the '03 and I remember it as being dry. I probably wouldn't have liked otherwise.
