- 2018 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett halbtrocken - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (5/9/2020)
Tasted over the course of four hours, this showed lemon, lime citrus fruit, a moderate level of sweetness, and enough finishing acidity to make it come across as dry at the end. It worked well as an afternoon aperitif, and also at the table. I have been buying and drinking this wine since the 2004 vintage, and it is consistently balanced and food friendly, as well as an excellent value, with its current $20 tag.
p.s. the 2004 is still drinking very well.
