Tried these two over the last few days:
1. DeVescovi Ulzbach Dd'OC: Teroldego Rotaliano (13%; www.DeVescoviUlzbach.It; ToscoImports) MezzoCorona/Trentino 2013: Very dark color; very strong plummy/black cherry cola/blackberry/Tero light earthy/slight loamy slight floral/aromatic/lilacs bit licorice/pungent lovely nose; bit soft somewhat rich/lush very strong Tero/plummy/black cherry cola/licorico/blackberry slight earthy/loamy slight floral/lilacs classic Tero flavor w/ modest ripe tannins; very long/lingering black cherry cola/Tero/licorice bit pungent fairly rich/lush finish w/ modest ripe tannins; a solid/4-square wine that speaks strongly of Teroldego; not the high-toned character of a Foradori but one of the better Teroldegos I can recall; this is how MikeOfficer would make Teroldego in the RotalianoPlain if he could; quite a nice Teroldego for a good price. $26.00 (EVN)

2. Foradori Teroldego IGT: Vigneti della Dolomiti (12.5%; www.ElisabettaForadori.com; L.01/16) Mezzolombardo/Trentino 2014: Very dark/near black color; very strong Tero/black cherry cola/boysenberry/blackberry some earthy/mineral/savory slight licorice/pungent rather complex nose; rather tart/tangy very strong Tero/black cherry cola/blackberry/licorice/bit RCCola quite structured some mineral/savory/pungent bit oak complex flavor w/ modest tangy tannins; very long/lingering quite structured tart/tangy very strong/Tero/black cherry cola/RCCola/blackberry/savory bit pencilly some complex finish w/ some tangy tannins; shows loads of Teroldego/pungent character & can still use 4-8 yrs of age yet; a beautiful expression of Teroldego as only Elisabetta can do.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Teroldego is one of my favorite grapes, especially as grown on the RotalianoPlain. And ElisabettaForadori is the acknowledged master of the grape. I had tried the DeVescovi and liked it quite a bit, so decided to pull the real thing. The pedigree of the Foradori came thru loud & clear.
