Lockdown Wine #22. Inky and opaque all the way to the rim. Blackberry, blackcurrant, chocolate, alcohol heat (14.8%). Needs about an hour to open up. Same fruits on the palate; blackberries and currants, a very slight jamminess, but it's not really a problem. Espresso. The alcohol doesn't show on the palate. Nicely integrated. Oak also fully absorbed. Dense and rich. Tannins could use more time to round out, but not all that powerful now. Touch of leather. I think still very young. Quite a bit of acidity which was really prominent for an hour or so, but it disappears after that. Impressive length. Finishes really nice with lingering cherry and plum.
I think leave this alone for a few more years. No hurry to drink, but if you have a good piece of beef or hearty stew, you won't go wrong with this, even in its present state.
