With Ottolenghi hake cakes in tomato sauce

2018 Benito Santos Saiar Albarino (Rias Baixas)

Citrus, green apple, tangy with mineral finish, quite good. B/B+

2002 Launay “Les Perrieres” Pommard Vignes Centenaire
(this is a lieu-dit village wine) Straightforward mature Burg, red fruit, resolved tannin, moderate acids, with a little orange zest note and some spice. Medium length, good. B

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C
drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
