WTN: Mastroberardino Radici Taurasi Riserva 2012

Lockdown Wine #18. Very deep, opaque, youthful, purple. Meaty, smoky, iron, and underneath that, ripe black berries. Dry, fairly high acidity, sour candy, boiled sweets, tobacco leaf, smoke. Tannins still strong even after 1.5 hours in the glass. Needs time. Long finish, but the tannins get in the way of it being pleasant. Leave alone for 2 years. In the meantime, drink Mastroberardino's 2009 Naturalis Historia if you want Aglianico.

Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

Enough depth for the tannins to have time to settle out?

Yes, I believe so. Shouldn't be a problem.
