Did some great wine tasting tonight in Napa as Stave Wine Bar and Back Room Wines. Back Room Wines was doing a multifaceted German and Austrian tasting with an amazing range of wines, including an oaky Chardonnay, some Reisslings dry and sweet, and a "Scheurebe Spatlese from Weingut Habner Simon. Delicious cfirsp, varied flavors. Didn't take very good notes.

As an extra , he poured a Sardinian Italian red, 2004 Argiolas Perdera, made with a rich, chewey, dark, herbal "Monica" grape. I am really intrigued by the new Italian grapes that I am finding!

At Stave, I tried a really interesting South African Cab. South African cabs are quite unique! Unfortunately, they were pouring their very last bottle and had none to sell, so I didn't write down the name. A hound was involved.
