WTN: Querciabella Camartina IGT 2008

Lockdown wine #13. An IGT with Cabernet and Sangiovese. Opaque, but starting to brick on the edge. Lovely perfume. Black fruit and baby powder. Baking spices. Sweet fruit on the palate. Ripe plum and raspberry. Good dose of acidity there making this a nice food wine. Still a bit of tannin, but definitely approachable. Decanting not really necessary, but would probably benefit from an hour exposed to air. Some dried herb action going on as well and a little bit of smoke. Milk chocolate. Quite complex. Good length but not especially long. A young adult, with a long life ahead. Excellent.

Biodynamic farming with 25 to 30% new French barriques. Only made in the best years.

Went with leftover roast beef and caccio e pepe.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

Yours is the second note this week in which I've seen the descriptor "baby powder"; I'm fairly certain I haven't run into it before but I'm thinking of a wine earlier this month that had a sweet nose that wasn't exactly floral and I didn't know how to describe it. This would have suited very well, I think.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
