We had these three last night w/ our Kasekrainer/ChoucrouteGarni. It was not a thrilling evening:
1. LaClarineFarm PetiteManseng SierraFoothills WW (12.4%; 79 cs; U/U; www.LaClarineFarm.com) Somerset 2018: Med.gold color; somewhat earthy/chalky/metallic light floral/fragrant/PM/dandelion/grapefruity/appley slight apple cider/phenolic rather interesting nose; very tart/tangy/sharp/citric/metallic/steely light floral/PM/dandelion slight apple cider/phenolic flavor; long very tart/acidic/citric/metallic/steely some chalky/stony/PM finish; resembles slightly Gascon PM w/ the chalky/stony character; has a screamingly high/screechy acidity on the palate that make it painful to drink; serve at room temperature; high skin to juice ratio gives it a slight skin-contact character that may not actually be; the acidity suggests it needs age but being a "natural" wine makes that kinda risky; interesting white but painful to drink & needs food; like biting down on a strip of aluminum foil between the fillings of your teeth that sends a jolt from your jaw to the top of your head; only for masochists; pricey at $29.00

2. Montesecontdo Tin IGT: Trebbiano (10.5%; Aged in amphora; BioDynamic; Frmtd in Tinaja; Louis/Dressner; www.Montesecontodo.com; U/U)Silvio Messana/SanCasciano Val di Pesa/Tuscany 2018: Med.gold bit hazy color; fairly strong phenolic/resiny/skin contact/cidery somewhat earthy/stony very slightly fruity interesting nose; fairly tart/tangy/bit metallic rather phenolic/resiny/cidery/skin-contact some earthy/stony very little fruit flavor; med.long quite tart/tangy/metallic rather phenolic/skin-contact/resiny/cidery some earthy finish; loads of skin-contact/phenolic character but not much else of interest; overpriced at $32.00 (AV)

3. Max Ferd.Richter Mulheimer Sonnenlay Riesling "Zeppelin" Deutscher Qualitatswein (11.0%; A.P.Nr. 2593049 0819; ShiverickImports/LA) Mulheim/Mosel 2018: Very loud pop when screwtop opened; lots of tiny bubbles that dissapate rapidly; pleasant R/pineapple/mango light slatey/Mosel somewhat attractive if simple nose; quite tart/tangy lightly sweet (2%-3% r.s.?) strong R/floral/pineapple/mango bit frizzante light Mosel/slatey flavor; med.long fairly tart/tangy bit lean/tight/eviscerated fairly R/Mosel/slatey/floral/mango finish; a pleasant straightforward Mosel R but on the simple/dull side; no bargain at $18.00 (AV)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Pretty dull bunch of wines, so just gave up and called it a day. The LaClarine was probably the most interesting of the trio but so/so painful to drink; badly needs food more than a Choucroute.
