WTN: Carlisle GrunerVeltliner SteinerVnyd '18...(short/borin

My new Carlisle stash came in Fri, so I just had to try:
1. Carlisle GrunerVeltliner SteinerVnyd/SonomaMtn/SonomaCnty (13.9%; 250 cs) 2018: Med.gold color; very strong white pepper/GV/floral/spicy light mineral/earthy rather fragrant quite Austrian-like nose; fairly tart/tangy bit steely/metallic quite spicy/white pepper/GV/floral slight citric bit mineral/earthy flavor; very long rather tangy/tart bit metallic/citric very spicy/white pepper/GV/floral finish; not as rich/intensely fruity GV as earlier ones but plenty of flavor with an old-world/Austrian sensibility; a lovely GV that speaks more of Austria than Calif.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Mike is a big fan of Austrian Gruner. He persuaded the folks at Steiner to plant some for him. He released the first Calif GV. I was quite taken by those previous one in that they showed a Smaargd-level of intensity of fruit. This one shows more of a Federspiel level but still plenty of GV character; still probably Calif's best GV.
