Over the past 3-4 years I have visited a wine retailer in Ft. Wayne and found 4 bottles of 2004 Staglin Cabernet on the floor and NOT moving. On four separate occasions I talked to the manager and said I'd give the store $50 for one of those knowing that the discounted price of $85.99 would sit there forever. Each time I found the manager present he gladly accepted the offer. Now I am down to my last bottle after tonight, and a very fine bargain it was. Tonight I was able to pay a lot of attention to the wine but that was not required. The nose exploded from the bottle with 2 hrs. of decant time in wide mouth decanter and pared very fine with a rib eye on a beautiful spring nite. The nose was FULL of eucalyptus and little fruit but the palate made up for it with huge amounts of cassis and more eucalyptus. This is, I imagine, what a cult cabernet must taste like.
abv of %14.9............I'm still sipping it "Oh my God this is sooo good".
